Born in Italy and based in California, Serena Morelli has been traveling and taking photographs since 1995. The relationship between human beings and Nature has been the main subject of her Art.
What can a desert, a flower, the fog, and the ocean teach us? How do we feel when immersed in a natural environment? The answers to the questions are visible in Serena’s studies of the strength and the resilience of flowers and weeds and in her views of empty immense spaces.
In 2018, after a solo show in San Francisco, for the first time Serena printed her photos on silk for a new collective exhibition in Oakland. The silk made her subjects fly and move. Since then, she has been taking photographs while thinking of light, heavenly, and fragile art pieces that reflect how precious and delicate life is.
